Lo spazio domestico è un mondo di oggetti in cui le cose ridefiniscono confini e significati. Conviviamo costantemente con dispositivi simbolici che sembrano vivi: il frigorifero è uno di questi. Presente in ogni casa è continuamente attivo, emette gemiti a cui siamo abituati e che entrano a far parte della nostra quotidianità. Quest’audioinstallazione cerca di addomesticare lo spazio ma anche di conservarlo. L’archivio di Viafarini come luogo ininterrottamente operoso ha bisogno di refrigerio. Attraverso il gorgoglio diffuso di questo elettrodomestico invisibile, lo spazio diventa vivente, a metà tra una condizione interiore domestica e un luogo di studio e ricerca. Il titolo indica la temperatura media ideale per il buon funzionamento dell’apparecchio. Questo suono, sospeso in un’apparente stasi, logora preserva e conserva.

Domestic space is a world of objects in which things redefine boundaries and meanings. We constantly coexist with symbolic devices that seem alive: the refrigerator is one of them. Present in every house, it is continuously active, it emits groans that we are used to and that become part of our daily life. This audio installation seeks to tame space but also to preserve it. The Viafarini archive as an uninterruptedly busy place that needs refreshment. Through the diffuse gurgling of this invisible appliance, the space becomes alive, halfway between an interior domestic condition and a place of study and research. The title indicates the ideal average temperature for the proper functioning of the appliance. This sound, suspended in an apparent stasis, wears out, preserves and conserves.
